PARAMETRICALLY ALTERING THE SCHWEIZER GERNSEHEN OFFICES BY MVRDV AS A TEAM EFFORT.

The core of the building is ultimately what controls all the changes that the building will obtain. As the diamond shape moves in a 180 degrees circle within the center of the atrium, it pulls points of the extruding atrium with it. This movement creates an entirely new shape of the building as this movement also pulls the facade as well as the entrance/exit voids of the building. At any degree between 0 and 180 the building has a different configuration. Boxes are placed at opposite sides of the building that ultimately form into the entrance and air exit of the building. They are meant to open at lowest level to be able to see through the atrium to the exit of the atrium at the top of the building from the street. The outer facade of this building is programmed to change as the inner rotating box moves 180 degrees. It moves with the inner atrium so that there is always the same amount of space between the facade and the atrium on all floors. The stair in this building is an addition to the original design as it did not have an open stair throughout the atrium at all. They are a criss cross configuration between two different
sections of the building. They can be arranged by sliding between two points on separate interior facades of the atrium as portrayed on the diagrams.
